Compare custom prices against the complete specification, then calculate the cost to receive the goods.
Spread the preparation cost over the quantity
Quantity changes how the upfront cost is shared. Suppose artwork setup and preparation cost $100 in total: a 100-piece order carries $1 per piece, while a 1,000-piece order carries $0.10 per piece. These are worked examples for comparing quotes.
Account for thickness and fabrication
Thickness and fabrication also change the cost. At the same sheet area, 5 mm material has about 67% more volume than 3 mm material. Bonding, polishing and printing need their own processing allowance; the volume increase alone does not establish the finished price.
Add packing and transport
Include packing and transport in the receiving cost. For example, a $5 product plus $0.80 freight totals $5.80; a $5.30 product plus $0.30 freight totals $5.60. Compare the same packing, destination and other quoted charges before choosing an offer.
