Should my logo use UV printing, screen printing or laser engraving?

11 / THE MARK AT FINISHED SIZE

Choose the logo process for the artwork and order quantity, then judge an actual sample.

Colour printing and surface engraving are shown above a 100 millimetre finished logo measurement.
Compare the finish on the proposed material, and inspect the logo at its actual size. The illustrated logo width is 100 mm.

Match the print process to the artwork

For full-colour artwork, start by evaluating UV printing; for a single-colour design, also compare a screen-printing quote. A one-colour logo and a photograph with gradients place different demands on the process.

Sample engraving on the proposed material

Laser engraving suits projects that need an etched surface effect. Cast and extruded acrylic engrave differently, and cast acrylic is often preferred for engraving. Ask the supplier to sample the mark on the material proposed for your order.

Review the logo at its actual size

Check the artwork at its intended size. For example, if the finished logo is 100 mm wide, confirm that its fine lines and small lettering are clear at 100 mm. An enlarged screen view cannot replace a check of the physical sample.
